Use this search feature to find prescribers that are part of the Medicaid/CHIP prescriber directory. Users can search for a prescriber by name with either a specific letter or string of letters. For example, a Last Name search of “Hern” will return records for “Hern” and “Hernandez.” A City search of “A” will return all prescribers with listings in city beginning with A (Abbott through Arlington).

Support for submission of the Prescriber National Provider Identifier (NPI) will be implemented in late 2010.

Notes:

• If the search does not produce the expected results, re-enter the criteria, making it less specific (i.e. enter just the first letter of the item you are searching for).
• Sometimes web browsers show old data in search results. To ensure that your web browser shows the most up-to-date version of a webpage, please do the following:
  • Hold the SHIFT key down on the keyboard.
  • While holding down the SHIFT key, use the mouse to click the refresh/reload icon in your browser. This will force the browser to go to the Internet and get a fresh copy of the page/data.
