The Rx Update is one way that the Vendor Drug Program communicates with the pharmacy community about changes in program procedures or policy, updates to the formulary and Medicaid preferred drug list, continuing education initiatives, and claim submission reminders.


All pharmacy providers contracted with the Vendor Drug Program will receive a copy of the newsletter in the mail.  An announcement will also be sent through our email notification service when new issues are available online.

It is an HHSC contract requirement for providers to notify the Medicaid/CHIP Division of a change in key information.  Pharmacy staff should search for their pharmacy via our Pharmacy Search to ensure their contact information is correct.  If the information is incorrect or incomplete, pharmacy staff must mail or fax the updated information on their pharmacy’s letterhead to the Medicaid/CHIP Contract Compliance and Support unit.
