Physician MCO Representative Sought for the Drug Utilization Review Board Until Dec. 1

If you’re interested in the statewide Medicaid Drug Utilization Review Program, you may want to apply to be a member of the Drug Utilization Review Board. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission executive commissioner will appoint members to the board to serve a term expiring Aug. 31, 2027 and Aug. 31, 2028 as noted.

HB 3286, 88th Regular Session, requires HHSC to include three members representing MCOs on the board.

Applications are due by 11:59 p.m., Dec. 1.

HHSC will consider applicants' qualifications, background and interest in serving on the board and will try to choose board members who represent the diversity of all Texans. For this reason, HHSC considers applicants' ethnicity, gender and geographic location.

A board member must regularly take part in board meetings and other meetings as needed. Board meetings are held about once every three months in Austin or at the call of the presiding officer. To the extent permitted by the current state budget, a board member may be repaid for their travel expenses to and from meetings if money is available and in accordance with the HHSC Travel Policy.

HHSC prefers that you submit your application electronically, but you may submit the application by email, mail or fax to the following addresses:
