Provisional Formulary Search

H.B. 3286, 88th Legislature, Regular Session, 2023, required VDP to create provisional formulary coverage to allow VDP to cover drugs provisionally while reviewing the Certificate of Information (COI), the required manufacturer drug application. This change will enable drugs to be available more quickly. Drugs included on the provisional formulary are available for reimbursement at point-of-sale for people in Medicaid managed care, fee-for-service, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program. The same prior authorizations will apply to provisional formulary drugs. Drugs on the provisional list may become unavailable if VDP denies the COI.
